Problem
When using the Software Parts Manager, I'm not able to type any text into the text boxes. The text just doesn't show up when I press keys.
Cause
This is a known incompatibility between Software Parts Manager (SPM) and some session managers (like CDE or HP VUE), which will be addressed in a future version of SPM. Often, session managers will use color schemes that cause SPM to display typed text in white on a white field, which prevents you from seeing the text.
Action
Configure your session manager to use a different color scheme. On HP/VUE, a compatible color scheme is Dierra. On Solaris CDE, you can use the Crimson palette. Consult your system's documentation, or your system administrator, for more help in choosing colors that will produce non-white text.
