Hard to say, really. There are a lot of cross-package dependencies, depending on which part of the Grid you're using.
We use an obfuscator (HashJava) here at Rogue Wave when deploying demo's, etc, that only obfuscates the necessary classes. So if you obfuscate from one directory into another, then you have the minimal classes needed for your app to work.
