Problem

Sometime after installing Visual CASE, I installed another Stingray product, and now I am getting errors in Visual CASE.

Cause

Stingray products released prior to Visual CASE 6.0 contain a devstore.pkg file that is an older version than the one that ships with Visual CASE 6.0. If the new devstore.pkg is replaced by the earlier version, parsing errors will occur. If you see any of the following errors, it is likely that you have replaced this file.

  • Class information not loaded at Developer Studio startup.
  • .ncb file errors while using Developer Studio.
  • Code not found when double clicking on class diagrams.
  • Program classes now appear in Unresolved References

Action

To resolve this problem, simply re-install Visual CASE. This will ensure the correct version of the devstore.pkg file. An easy way to check whether you have the correct version is to look at the file size. The new version should be 20k, while the old version is 16k.
