Problem

All Visual CASE Menus and Toolbars Disabled

Cause

Visual CASE tries to stay out of your way until you need it. Therefore, by default your Visual C++ projects will not have any UML information associated with them.

Action

To begin using the features of Visual CASE, you must first load a valid Visual C++ project, and then explicitly add UML modeling information to your project.

Once a Visual C++ project is loaded, the UML Model menu items and toolbar button will become enabled. To add UML information, simply click on the Add UML Model to Project button on the main Visual CASE toolbar. You will get a dialog verifying your intentions and then Visual CASE will be fully active. You may also select the menu item Visual CASE/Add UML Model or Project/Add To Project/UML Model instead of using the toolbar.

If you want UML Information to always be added to newly created project, select the Tools/Options/VisualCASE tab and click the ?Add UML Model to New Workspace? checkbox. Note that this tab is only available if Visual CASE Integrated UML Modeling has been enabled (refer to the Visual CASE menu or toolbar).
