Problem

When building an application with Tools.h++ on Sun, the compiler reports a Sig 10 (Signal 10, sig10) error and aborts the build.

Action

This is a known issue that has been addressed by both Sun and Rogue Wave.

Obtain a patch from Sun and install it on your compiler. Details on this patch are available from Sun. To ensure that you have the correct patch installed (minimum 104631-04), type CC -V at the command line. You should see an output similar to this:

CC: WorkShop Compilers 4.2 18 Sep 1997 C++ 4.2 patch 104631-04

Rogue Wave addressed the issue in Tools.h++ 7.0.8. If for some reason you aren't able to upgrade, contact Technical Support for patches. You will need both the Sun patch and the Rogue Wave patch.
