Question

Do I need to re-sign JViews jars when distributing them with my application?

Answer

Start in JViews 8.6 patch 9, all of the JViews library jar files are signed for the purpose of running our Applet and Java webstart demos. The signed jars are not intended for the customers to deliver as-is.

When you need to sign your application where the JViews library jars are embedded, it is recommended that you sign the entire application, including JViews jars, with your own certificate.

On the other hand, if there is no need to sign your application, you can leave the Rogue Wave certificates in the JViews jars as-is.
