Question

What are the path that Dashboard Editor searches when loading a palette?

Answer

The paths that the Dashboard Editor searches when loading palettes are:

1. The absolute path of the palette file which is stored in the dashboard file under the paletteJarURL property.

2. If the paletteJarURL property is not present or the palette file cannot be found under the specified URL, the next path would be in the CLASSPATH.

3. If #2 fail, it will use the class loader of the "calling" class, in this case DashboardEditor.

You can expend the paths that the Dashboard Editor searches for the palettes by changing the CLASSPATH to include your palette jar or to register a class loader to be used in the look up process. You can register a class loader with the following static method:

ilog.views.util.IlvClassLoaderUtil.registerClassLoader( java.lang.ClassLoader).
