Question

How to enable internationalization in the MIDMIF reader?

Answer

A default charset is used in the MID reader, which therefore does not allow a correct display of international characters.

Here is a way to create an IlvMIDMIFReader object with the appropriate charset:

IlvMIFReader _mifReader = new IlvMIFReader(fileName+".mif");

IlvMIDReader _midReader = new IlvMIDReader(fileName + ".mid",

_mifReader.getAttributeInfo(),

_mifReader.getDelimiter(),

"ISO-8859-1");

IlvMIDMIFReader reader = new IlvMIDMIFReader(_mifReader, _midReader);

The last parameter of the IlvMIDReader constructor is the name of the charset.
