Which map formats does JViews support?

Answer

JViews Maps supports the following formats:

  • CADRG
  • Oracle Spatial
  • ESRI Shapefile (.shp)
  • MapInfo (.mif, .mid)(since JViews 5.0)

Since JViews Maps 7.5, the following formats are also supported:

  • GeoTIFF (.tif)
  • TIGER/Line (.RTx)

  • Non-georeferenced raster images (.gif, .jpg, .png, .tif)
  • DTED 0, 1, & 2
  • GTOPO30 DEM
  • Open APIs are available for user defined format

Since JViews Maps 8.0, the following formats are also supported:

  • Google KML
  • WMS Servers
  • DXF
  • A bridge to FME ( http://www.safe.com ) can provide access 150 more formats.

Since JViews Maps 8.1, the following formats are also supported:

  • Oracle raster data
  • SVG

Since JViews Maps 8.7, the following formats are also supported:

  • IBM® DB2® Spatial Extender

  • IBM® Informix® Spatial DataBlade™

In addition to the above formats, JViews Maps for Defense also supports the following:

  • ASRP (.gen)
  • USRP (.gen)
  • VMAP

Since JViews Maps for Defense 8.0, the following formats are also supported:

  • S57
  • DAFIF
