Question

Why is my JMenu or JPopupMenu "hidden" by the JViews IlvManagerView?

Answer

Make sure you use Ilv[]J[]ScrollManagerView (orIlv[]J[]ManagerViewPanel if you don't need scroll bars). If you use IlvScrollManagerView (or a plain IlvManagerView) instead, it will always appear "above" any Swing components. This prevents your JMenu and JPopupMenu (or J-anything) from appearing.

_view = new IlvManagerView(_mgr, null);
// For Swing applications use IlvJScrollManagerView:
getContentPane().add(new IlvJScrollManagerView(_view),
BorderLayout.CENTER);
