Problem

When you are trying to run the LEIF server (leifserver start), you see the following message appear:

Starting Apache Server...

[Wed May 26 15:30:38 2004] [error] (OS 2)The system cannot find the file

specified. : No installed service named "ApacheLEIF25".

Cause

You may have had an older version of LEIF 2.5 installed (beta version or evaluation) where the service ApacheLEIF25 had a different installation path.

You can check this on Windows by going to the Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services and finding ApacheLEIF25.  Right click on the name and select Properties and you can check the "Path to Executable" value.  If this is not correct for your current installation, you will see the above error message.

Action

To rectify this problem you must manually reinstall ApacheLEIF25.  Please follow the steps below:

  • Open a command prompt and navigate to your LEIF 2.5  installation.
  • Run leifvars.bat to set your environment.
  • Run leifapache uninstall to ensure that any previous ApacheLEIF installation files are removed.
  • Run leifapache install.
